oh my tired feet!
i landed myself an awesome job with Artistic-a catering & event management co- supervising a hot food stall during the commonwealth games. BOY, is it hard physical labour! :P Definitely a job for the physically & mentally fit people. bwahahah.
i’m four days into it and already my body’s aching all over and my feet get so sore that it’s actually tender to walk on them and i sleep with my feet on pillows. i’m gonna go buy some extra-extra-extra padded shoes i think. seriously.
BUT, the good news i have to say is that the people i’m working with are just totally amazing. Most of them have amazing initiative and can-do attitudes, as well as hardy people who can take the heat when it gets intense. on top of that, we’ve all somehow managed to keep an atmosphere of fun majority of the time. which, if you were to be here to see, is quite a feat in itself…..but is definitely definitely our one sanity.
night weekend shifts are the worst! crowds flock to the stands in masses after the performances (there’s a huge festival happening in the area that i’m working @). Here’s the Top 5 foods ordered:
1. Hamburgers
2. Hot Chips
3. Fish & Chips
4. Nuggets & Chips
5. potato cakes/dim sims
oh! and of course the next best thing is that i actually get paid for this. $18.61 an hr to be exact. WOOHOO! ;)
